One of the most catalyzing motivations for therapy is relationship. We all want to love and be loved. Relationships, whether with family, friends or partners, are where we seek and hope to get this love exchange.
Even the best relationships have their difficulties. The issues that arise in intimate partnerships most often originate from our childhood imprints and conditioning. This is true for each and every one of us and it makes relationship our greatest opportunity for personal growth.
Most relationship issues center around communication problems, unfulfilled expectations, betrayals, and other disappointments. These are expressed through ongoing arguments, dramas, crises and unpleasant daily happenings. If you deal with them on the level of right/wrong or trying to convince or change the other, you’ll be at it a lifetime.
Relationship difficulties need to be addressed at the source, that is, the childhood imprinting, programming, habits and beliefs in each partner. These imprints create their own dance with those of your partner and lie unseen beneath the more obvious interactions.
Healing the relationship begins when you see and experience your truth and what you are bringing (even unconsciously) to the partnership from your own early experiences. Clearing out these patterns leads to shifts in you and in all your relationships.
Until there is healing, we bring our childhood issues with us no matter who our partner is. We also attract just the right partner to heal those issues. It is wise, therefore, to consider doing the healing in your current relationship with the strong possibility that you will actually find the happiness that’s been eluding you.
